Since our small beginnings in 2003, Blue Dragon has become a powerful force for change on the streets of Vietnam, both in the bustling cities and in rural areas where poverty is widespread. Blue Dragon offers children and families in crisis the chance to turn their lives around, providing practical solutions to the daily problems that are keeping poverty alive.
Within the 1000 kilometers of riding my previously trusted steed for four years, I needed to stop and have my motorbike repaired on three separate occasions. It was truly a miracle that I was able to make it safe and sound from Quang Ngai, Vietnam in the middle of the country to Hanoi in the north. Especially making my way over the steep mountainous pass between Danang to Hue. Thank you so much to all the generous and skilled people who eventually got me to my destination. Phew!
An inspired 1000 kilometer motorbike ride from Quang Ngai to Hanoi, Vietnam
From the inception of the Citizen44 with Mark Arinsberg podcast, I had hoped that this weekly audio program would add value to my life as well as the lives of others who were willing to gamble on listening to my show. And after one hundred and one episodes, I personally was moved to the point of taking action and where I now find myself life living in Hanoi, Vietnam volunteering for the Blue Dragon Children's Foundation. I must thank Michaek Brosowski for his dedication, courage and commitment to saving innocent Vietnamese children from sheer terror while creating opportunties for children and families in crisis to attain a better quality of living. I was living in Ho Chi Minh City when I discovered Michael Brosowski on LinkedIn and approached him about being a guest on the podcast. Without hesitation he agreed to give me his time, energy and story. After a profoundly moving presentation on his part and the urgency and importance that his work represented, I told him following the episode recording that one day I would come to Hanoi and support his efforts in whatever way he saw fit. I am now there three days a week playing with the children, teaching a bit of English and providing whatever support I can. This is the kind of real human work goes far beyond rewarding. I love what I'm doing.
